For the last few years, I've wanted to receive fewer and fewer 'things'. While it's super easy to buy something on Amazon (which, there are options there too) I feel like experiences and intangible gifts are more important to me now.
Additionally, I have a goal of "Nothing New" - meaning if a used or otherwise unwanted item works well, I prefer that over a new one.
I hope to provide some options that are easier on the planet, easier on your wallet, and most importantly - easy for you to gift.
The gift of a donation is at the top of my list because they help support the things I care most about, and environmentally speaking, are easiest on the planet. A donation to one of these non-profits would really mean a lot to me, and make a great gift if you don't have a lot of time :)
National Parks are my happy place. I want my children and grandchildren to be able to experience the parks in the same way I have - exactly as they are now.
Donate to the National Parks to preserve America's places of natural beauty.
We ride for one of my best friends, who was diagnosed with MS. A donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society supports my efforts to raise money, as well as my amazing friend.
When I was a kid, I spent summer weeks on the shores of Little Bostwick. Camp Roger shows kids of all ages the wonders of God and Nature, and has done so since 1913.
A donation to the Acorn Fund provides financial aid to campers, making camp more accessible to families who otherwise couldn't afford it.
You can't deny it. Humans have destroyed a lot over our time on earth - and over the last 100 years, our own planet has become the next thing on the list.
A donation to the EDF helps preserve the planet, and our existence on it.
Books are great, especially for Jamie. Used books are even better! If you have or find any of these books at a used bookstore, it would make an awesome gift!
Any of the Hardcover Harry Potter books
Any of the books on Jamie's Book List
I've been interested in building a collection of music. Since I never really listened to records, I thought the best medium for my music appreciation would be the good ol' CD.
The CD's are kinda sorted by genre, but feel free to use the link below to find something you and I enjoyed together, or pick something random!
Buy once, cry once. I'm looking to slowly replace my fleet of socks with Darn Tough socks. They're guaranteed for life, and worth every penny.
Shoe Size Medium would be great.
Black or Grey would be best, but not required.
I know this section defeats the purpose, but sometimes a nice, new, gift just fits the bill.
Here are a few links to things I will definitely use, and have a need for in my life.
